Annual General Meeting 2026
Friends of Science Society hosted a virtual 2026 AGM on June 10, 2026. The virtual platform allows more of our national and international members to participate. We are now in our 24th year of operation!
We are very grateful to Western Standard for their publication of our articles on climate and energy. Please support independent media.
Thanks to your donations, Friends of Science Society continues to distribute press releases and reach millions of people via PRNewswire across North America (primarily the USA where we can reach a much larger audience and where people and media are more receptive to our views). You can see our list of releases here.

President’s Message
Our president, Ron Davison, P. Eng., gave a presentation in which he discussed how he had come to be involved in the analysis of climate claims, leading to his tenure with Friends of Science Society for the past five years as president. From his professional work as lead engineer on an acid gas disposal project (effectively a CO2 sequestration project) 30 years ago, to a turning point conversation for him, with a family member who happened to say the fateful words “the science is settled…” Ron described his journey into the world of climate skeptics, wrapping up with his most recent trip to the Heartland Institute’s 16th International Climate Change Conference.

Overview of Communications Outreach and Results
Following the AGM business, Michelle Stirling, our Communications Manager, presented a compilation of the work we had done in the past year, titled: “When Climate Prophecy Fails…”

Special Events
Thanks to generous donors, last year we were able to do two in-person events.
The first event was a double-header and a book launch. It took place on March 11, 2025, titled: “Common Sense on Climate and Energy: Let’s Nix Net Zero, Together!” The event featured guest speakers Ron Davison, P. Eng., and Paul MacRae, presenting excerpts of the book “Energy & Climate at a Glance 2024.” The event was a great success, and the book has been such a popular seller that we are SOLD OUT. Many thanks to Canadians for Sensible Climate Policy and the Heartland Institute for their collaboration on the production of this book.
The second event was held on September 25, 2025, titled: “Food Prices, Farming and Net Zero Ideology with Dr. Joseph Fournier.” Dr. Fournier is a rancher and atmospheric scientist who provided us with insights on methane that you won’t hear in the mainstream press, along with discussions about the carbon footprint of food production; very little of it comes from the farm.
Thanks to donors, we were able to expand our advertising campaigns and reach out to new markets in the agriculture industry.
Our message to steak lovers? Cows are NOT the new coal!
