Friends of Science Calgary

The Sun is the main driver of climate change. Not you. Not carbon dioxide.

About

Friends of Science have spent a decade reviewing a broad spectrum of literature on climate change and have concluded the sun is the main driver of climate change, not carbon dioxide (CO2). The core group of the Friends of Science is made up of retired and semi-retired earth and atmospheric scientists. Friends of Science have been engaged in climate science literature review since 2002. The core group has a cumulative body of some 300 years of training and field experience.

Friends of Science is a non-profit organization created to educate the public and policy makers on climate science, policy and economics.

Our operational funds come entirely from Memberships and Donations.

Now, more than ever, we need help from visitors like you.

Your support allows us to disseminate relevant, balanced and objective scientific and economic information on Climate Change, and to support real environmental solutions. We do not represent any industry sector.

If you enjoy our blog postings, please consider donating to and/or becoming a member of Friends of Science.

Thank you very much for your support.

  1. I would be interested in knowing more about you guys. I have three BSc’s, and am passionate about the environment. I am also equally certain that a war on CO2 is useless, and takes the focus away from much larger environmental problems that often have ready solutions.

    • Thanks! We agree. The focus on CO2 has created a huge industry of vested interests built on demonizing CO2, a substance that is harmless, and often used in beneficial ways for humans. In our view, calling wind power ‘clean and green’ when the toxic tailings of rare earth mineral mining in China leaves whole communities surrounded by radioactive, untreated waste…. well, that is the ultimate hypocrisy. INTERPOL’S “Guide to Carbon Trading” shows that often polluting emissions from factories have been upped…to make more money on carbon trading! That is nonsense and terrible for the environment. Have a look at our website http://www.friendsofscience.org You can become a member or contact us there. Thanks for your comment.

  2. Readers of this blog may be keen to read about the myths being substituted for math by media and the insurance industry on climate change induced flooding and extreme rainfall. Here are some top myths and infographic hyperbole busted with simple facts and our country’s official Engineering Climate Datasets:

  3. Stephen Hawking and Neil deGrassi Tyson disagree with you. Why? Can you get them to thoroughly understand your position and then get their rebuttal argument (or agreement!)? I need to hear both sides. A video interview would be great, (depending on who has the better argument, I guess….)

    • There are many dissenting views on climate change in the scientific community. Doubt that those gentlemen would even talk to us. We are always up for debates but rarely find someone as they claim ‘the science is settled’ and they don’t want to talk to ‘deniers’ – even though we agree climate changes and humans have some impact. We just don’t think it is catastrophic and we think much public money is being wasted on ideology that is not supported by evidence.
